DDM House

2010

The house is located in the small town of Domus de Maria, 55 kilometres from Cagliari, in the region of Sardinia.

The site, characterized by the presence of olive trees and surrounded by the typical Mediterranean countryside, is located in an expansion area of the town, where the type of single-family residence predominates. The architectural program comprises three parts, which generates three related volumes, internally and externally connected through a courtyard garden, directly inspired by the Mediterranean courthouse. The dwelling is designed to be built in three phases and to be eventually divided in three separate parts according to client requirement. The three volumes accommodate a bed and breakfast with three rooms and private bath, the owner’s residence with living area and bedroom and a two levels volume, which contains a studio and three bedrooms upstairs.
